Devo reinderizzare?

Ciao!!

Figurati!
Purtroppo è un bel periodo che non faccio 3D quindi non ho più cercato modelli e su Alucard non saprei aiutarti ^^;

I pmd sono disumani TT^TT ho tentato più e più volte di convertirli con gli script giusti usando sia blender che 3dsmax stesso, ma ho sempre fallito =_=;

I started to learn 3dsmax and i want to render my works with 3dsmax mental ray. When i open obj. file 3dsmax showing models with no colors i mean it shows grey. Pictures in here. i1294.photobucket.com/albums/b…
And when i enter rendering it's shows like that,i1294.photobucket.com/albums/b…
Can you help me about that please ? I need about about that. :/

Hi my dear ^^
The problem are the missing materials, when you export the .obj from XnaLara (or XPS) the programs create another file called .mtl and few copies of the texture of the model.
If 3dsmax can't show them seems like it wasn't able to update them.
So be sure to import with the correct options as I show in the tutorial, as you see there is a little option that maybe wasn't flagged fc01.deviantart.net/fs71/f/201…
If it doesn't work you may add materials directly from 3dsmax in the characters following the part of the tutorial "ADDING MATERIALS"

However if you are at the first try with 3dsmax I suggest you to create a new folder with the model's texture inside of it and saving the .obj file in that folder.

Hope it works :)

Hi ^^
Thank you for reply my message.
Still i didnt fix my problem i did the same things you said but it's still showing models with gray color. And i entered to material editors but it's not showing things in there like in your tutorial.Everything is gray when i add .obj file in my program,i'm using 3dsmax 2010,it can't be because of that right ? I mean with program's version. :| (Blank Stare)
And when i add .obj file like in tutorial program saying that too: i1294.photobucket.com/albums/b…
I started to learn 3dsmax last week,i know some things about that program but until i start to use this program i didnt fix that problem, program shows every models with gray color,i watched tutorial videos too but why it's shows with gray color i didnt understand :/

Seems like there aren't any mtl file then..
Ok try this way: sta.sh/0n5x4cygdck
Your window message has another name, but maybe it's because you have 2010 version and me 2013.
-Select the browse button
-In the next window click on ADD button
-Look for the data folder into you xnalara/xps
-Chose the right folder of the character you are using
-Then click USE PATH and CONTINUE button in the underlying window.
As you can see now it works, only in render but better than nothing.
I hope you have the browse button, if not I'll look for another solution. I want to help you as I can ^w^
Hope it works lol xD

But if you can find another way for fix that problem we can try but if it's hard then i can download 3dsmax's 2013 version. But probably 2013 version is recommending great system but i can try if it doesnt have another way for fix it.

The problem are the material, if you did all that I told you and none of them worked the problems is something about I don't know.
The .mtl file must be in the same model's folder together with the .obj file. As I've said but if 3dsmax can't find them you have to do the browse speech. If you don't have the browse button you may add materials directly from 3dsmax in the characters following the part of the tutorial "ADDING MATERIALS" even if you don't have material you can add them in the same way. But again if it didn't work I really don't know how to help :/

.mtl file is in the same folder with obj. file and model is too but probably my program doesnt see that .mtl file. I'm trying to add materials,it's working but still it's not showing with colors it's shows gray, even in render. I will try to do all way you said again. Maybe in my second try it can fix my problem.

I didn't find browse button in my program, when i open obj. file in my program it's still shows with gray color and my program doesnt giving the error like yours, and this error doesnt have browse button but i look for find browse button but i didnt find still. :/
I'm thinking about it my program is 2010 and it's lower than 2013 maybe some settings arent advanced in this version, and maybe that problem happening because of that,i find 3dsmax 2013 version and i will download it maybe my problem will fix in this way and you can help me more because we will have the same program version. You think this idea is good or not ?

Hi dear, well he cut it off because people used it for porn when he has specifically requested not to do so, but try to talk to him and ask, he doesn't bite ^^b
I think you understand that I cannot post or send you the scene, since it is his property.
He kindly gave it to me not so much time ago so good luck and thank you!

Dumb question, I know it's the wrong place to ask but it seems like DeviantArt "pros" rarely share techniques with Xnalara/blender/3ds max stuff. I've seen "modified" models of game characters and an example of this would be a scientist wearing a shirt with a lab coat but somehow people managed to get rid of the inside shirt but leave the lab coat on. Do you have any knowledge of this? Sorry to bother you... I bought the premium membership here to show others that I'm not some randoms who fools around but it seems no one cares lol. :) (Smile)

Hi and you aren't bothering me ^^
Well if I understood you are talking about mesh-modding. As I've showed in this tutorial, with XPS you can (if the model is made in the right way) cut off parts which you don't want anymore on the model.
Often happened to me to work with 3 models just to make a render of one character, for example it happened with my "Call me Sensei" artwork. I used the head of Jetstream Sam from MGR then added the naked body of Albert Wesker and on it I put the samurai outfit of another model. If I have to use the model more than one time (like my original characters) then I have to attach all of them on Blender (for a perfect result) or in XPS (for something more fast but not perfect at all), so I'll always have a fully complete model. If I'll use it just only one time, I just pose the 3 models in a separate way on XPS.
For XPS complete mesh-modding tutorial you can look here: aydean.deviantart.com/gallery/…
For Blender mesh-modding I suggest you to be more confident with the program and with python scripts, or you'll not be able to understand what you are doing wrong when you'll get an error message (I'm not so pro myself >_<) that's why, when I work on a model I have the help of my friend and tutorials around youtube or google :/ Blender is really a pain in the *ss!
